Our apiary provides a place for beginners to keep bees in a supportive environment and a location for members who are not able to keep hives elsewhere.
Visitors are welcome at the apiary in spring, summer and autumn. Saturday afternoon sessions usually run from 2–3pm, but times may vary according to the availability of our members and, of course, the weather forecast. If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact us. The apiary is on the junction of Stockdove Way and Argyle Road, Perivale.
Dress for the bees
To protect yourself from stings, we recommend that you wear a long-sleeved shirt or jacket, long trousers, gloves and wellies, and please don’t wear strong aftershave or perfumes. We will lend you a beekeeping veil to keep you safe while a beekeeper opens a hive and shows you what’s inside.
The apiary site is very basic without amenities (no toilets). However, we can offer tea and sometimes cake.
